US Endoscopy announces full market release of the BioShield® ERCP biopsy valve7.31.2007
Mentor, Ohio - July 31, 2007 - US Endoscopy, a
world leader in endoscopy device design and manufacturing,
announces the official launch of the BioShield® ERCP
biopsy valve. This new disposable biopsy valve is purpose-built to
endure the conditions of endoscopic retrograde
cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) procedures*.
ERCP is seldom performed without the constant drip of
biomaterial - unnecessarily exposing healthcare workers to
potentially dangerous bodily fluids. Now, there's one less reason
to worry about the messy leakage and lengthy cleanup. The
BioShield® ERCP valve is a single-use biopsy valve
designed for little or no leakage - for a much cleaner procedure
with minimal backflow of biomaterial. The new ERCP valve is also
sterile, offering added protection for patients by helping to
ensure the sterility of the devices passed through the biopsy
port.
"The BioShield® ERCP biopsy valve helps protect both
the clinician and the patient during an ERCP procedure," said Gulam
Khan, US Endoscopy CEO and Co-Chairman. "It is a prime example of
our corporate focus to design and deliver products that solve
problems."
