US Endoscopy announces full market release of the Raptor™ grasping device

Mentor, Ohio - October 18, 2011 - US Endoscopy, a world leader in endoscopy device design and manufacturing, is proud to announce the release of the Raptor™ grasping device. This disposable grasper uniquely combines the capabilities of traditional rat tooth and alligator devices into one - offering strength and precision during foreign body retrieval.

"As a leader in endoscopic foreign body management, it was important to design a device that offers consistent, precise performance, especially for challenging foreign bodies," says Gulam Khan, US Endoscopy CEO, President, and Co-chairman. "The Raptor™ device offers clinicians the versatility needed to quickly and securely retrieve sharp objects such as safety pins, razor blades, etc."

The single-use design of the Raptor™ device helps minimize the risk of cross-contamination and eliminates the need for reprocessing - ensuring it performs consistently each time it is used. Feedback indicates that the functionality of reusable rat tooth grasping forceps frequently deteriorates over time from re-processing and many are lost or accidentally discarded.
